Americans are Outraged, We No Longer Recognize Donald J. Trump
A fresh debate has ignited within U.S. domestic politics regarding the war with Iran. Kari Lake Prejean Boller, a former official in the Trump administration, has alleged that Israel’s influence over U.S. policymaking is the primary reason the country has become embroiled in a war with Iran. At the same time, she declared that Trump’s popular ‘MAGA’ movement has effectively collapsed, stating, "We no longer recognize Trump."
According to TRT World, Boller has become a vocal critic of Donald Trump. She claims the U.S. government is being operated under the influence of Israel and asserts that the ‘Make America Great Again’ (MAGA) movement is now "over."
"We are Under Occupation"
In an interview on the program Piers Morgan Uncensored this Monday, Boller remarked that she no longer "recognizes" Trump, despite once considering him a close friend.
"I think we are under a kind of occupation. A foreign country has occupied our government. We are now seeing the President of the United States acting under the influence of a foreign government," she said.
She blamed the war with Iran on Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s frequent visits to the U.S., stating: "He (Netanyahu) has been here nearly eight times. It’s shameful. We are the United States—so why are we allowing a foreign country to influence our government?"
She further added, "MAGA is over, completely over. Americans are outraged. We no longer recognize Donald J. Trump."
Cracks Within the Administration
Trump’s stance on the Iran war has caused a rift even among his political supporters. Influential allies and former officials are now publicly criticizing him. On Tuesday, Joe Kent, who served as the Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, posted his resignation letter on X (formerly Twitter). In it, he questioned the justification for the war and called for an end to the hostilities.
In his letter, Kent wrote: "I cannot, in good conscience, support this ongoing war with Iran. Iran posed no immediate threat to us, and it is clear we have been dragged into this war due to pressure from Israel and their influential lobbyists."
Context of the Controversy
Boller was removed from the White House Religious Liberty Commission last month. She had been appointed to the post in May 2025 but was dismissed over allegations of attempting to "divert the focus" of a hearing.
Media reports suggest that after the joint U.S.-Israel strikes on February 28 led to the outbreak of war with Iran, a new debate emerged among Republicans regarding the interpretation of the 'America First' policy. Many believe that military intervention abroad is fundamentally at odds with the core principles of that doctrine.
Boller claimed she had been a Trump supporter for nearly 20 years and insists there is widespread opposition to the war among grassroots conservatives. "I talk to MAGA supporters every day, and ordinary Americans are against this war. They believe we are now at war with Iran because of Israel," she said.
She concluded by saying, "We will no longer vote for politicians who lie about draining the swamp and avoiding foreign wars. Trump has betrayed our country, and he has betrayed the MAGA movement. People are furious."
